Eurobin was once a small village with primary school, post office and general store when there was a railway siding and plenty of workers in forestry, agriculture, gold mining and eventually tobacco. It is still a rich farming area with hops the main crop in addition to pine plantations, nut farms and grazing. There is no longer a school, post office or shop so Porepunkah is now the nearest village at 7km from our place. Nearby attractions are the Buffalo Berry Farm (500m) Tatanka Gardens (2km) and the Red Stag Deer and Emu Farm (4km). Toursist are attracted to Eurobin and Porepunkah because of the Mount Buffalo National Park with its famous chalet, fantastic rock formations and hiking trails, Lake Catani and snow sports in winter - cross-country skiing, tobogganing and show-shoeing. The famous Murray-to-Mountains Rail Trail runs past us and most visitors can't resist going for a cycle to nearby wineries, Porepunkah and even Bright (13km) along the sealed cycle path. We can usually lend you our bikes if you haven't brought your own.
Bicycle and car are the best ways to get around as there isn't much in the way of public transport. The Vline bus stops in Porepunkah and if you let us know when you are arriving we can pick you up if we are not away ourselves or leave bikes for you in Porepunkah. There are buses to the ski resorts of Falls Creek and Mount Hotham that stop in Porepunkah as well.
